Peter G. Cordeiro Scholar Program

This program provides a reconstructive plastic surgeon:

  1. A fully funded scholarship to visit the Plastic Surgery Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York for 1-3 weeks.
  2. An additional stipend of up to $2,500 to visit other international plastic surgery centers of the recipient's choice.

Goals

  • Provide a valuable educational experience.
  • Exchange ideas and develop collaboration.
  • Create lasting relationships between institutions.

Selection Criteria

  • A reconstructive surgeon who has been in practice for less than 15 years.
  • He/She should be on staff at an academic institution.
  • He/She should have demonstrated strong clinical and research productivity in reconstructive plastic surgery.
  • One scholar is chosen every year.
