Visiting Professor Program

Visiting Professor Applicants

Deadline for application submission is December 1.

Qualifications and Guidelines:

Visiting Professors will be provided up to $5,000 to cover flight and transportation for 3-5 trips starting July 1 and ending June 30.
The host institution is responsible to pay the remaining costs including hotel, meals and local transportation.
Based on the Program’s request for Visiting Professors, trips will be assigned at the direction of the WSRM.
The visiting professors will be placed on the biennial congress program to give a brief 10-minute summary of their travels and experience as a WSRM Visiting Professor.
There will be two WSRM Visiting Professors annual with one visiting professor a senior surgeon and the other a young surgeon. Senior surgeon is defined as in practice more than 15 years.
To qualify the applicant is to be an actively participating member of the WSRM.

Hosts of Visiting Professors

Application Deadline February 15.

WSRM members will be selected to participate in this program each year based on applications received. Visiting Professors will be provided a small stipend to cover flight and transportation to and from the host institution. The host institution is responsible to pay the remaining costs including hotel, meals and local transportation. Travel dates are worked out directly between the visiting professor and program.

Traveling professors are actively participating members of the WSRM. There may be more requests to host an WSRM Traveling Professor than opportunities for travel. Locations will be selected with an emphasis on underserved microsurgery areas or areas to build microsurgery. If your program does not have the privilege of hosting a WSRM Visiting Professor we encourage you to submit your interest to host the following year.
